Call to Action

Stand Up And Fight

How much does a person value their privacy? Any person would absolutely say that what they call personal should not be seen or copied for other purposes but the sole use justified by the owner of the information. The NSA has been tampering with that data for years and people must band together to protect the most important principle of the United States, freedom. What is freedom if someone does not have the capability to talk to another person without being traced or recorded? The fundamentals of freedom come at risk when the NSA has the capability and uses that capability to go beyond their duty to spy on the citizens of the United States and the world. Even the very existence of the internet is at risk. The internet is a place where data can be shared freely to expand the knowledge of people and the capabilities of communication, yet this agency misuses it to collect information on people. Internet is the technology of the future and is already being misused to the gains of one group. It is the duty of every citizen to speak up and be heard, to say that “I know what you are up to, and I do not approve of this,” and have an impact on what is being done, for the citizens are the ones that should be keeping this government in check.

Organizations to Support:

  • EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation)

The Electronic Frontier Foundation was founded in 1990 before many knew the internet even existed. Their goal is to fight for digital rights and have always sided with public interest in every major battle for rights. The EFF is completely donor-funded and a majority of their funds come from individual donors.

  • Patient Privacy Rights

Patient Privacy Rights is dedicated to ensure that all Americans control access to their health rights and confidentiality before, during, and after treatment. Patient Privacy Rights is a bipartisan, non-profit organization.

  • Wikileaks

Wikileaks is an international news-leak website. The whole reason we know about the NSA spying is because someone posted the information on the Wikileaks website. Wikileaks is non-profit that tries to uncover what groups try to hide from people.

  • Free Press (Save the Internet)

This foundation is attempting to protect the first amendment in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Free speech is now being challenged on the internet and on digital media, so they decided to defend everyone from having that right taken away. Free Press is a non-profit organization.
